News from the US is that Datasat Digital Entertainment, a high-quality manufacturer of digital audio processors for the home and pro-cinema markets, has been purchased by Amplifier Technologies Inc. (ATI), maker of a whole range of powerful AV and home cinema amplification products for the last 40 years.
Active in the home market, the new deal gives ATI feet on the ground in the pro cinema world via Datasat’s 20-year association with that market, as well as a strengthened presence in the home market where Datasat has found many friends in more recent years with its ability to deliver in new 3D audio codecs.
“Datasat Digital Entertainment (DDE) products are well known and considered by many to be one of the leading audio processing technologies in the world,” states Morris Kessler, owner and chief designer at ATI. “The addition of Datasat to our existing lines including ATI, Theta Digital and BGW will provide consumers and professional exhibitors all over the world with the highest quality audio in feature-rich and flexible configurations for any audio application.”
“We are pleased to see Datasat joining the ATI family,” says Robert McKinley, EVP of operations at Datasat Digital Entertainment. “There’s a great deal of synergy between the companies already, but the combined sales, engineering and operations teams will now work hand in hand to provide continuity with our current product offering while simultaneously moving exciting new initiatives forward to better serve and support the marketplace. This is a great opportunity for anyone that values the highest quality, most reliable audio products available.”
The Datasat brand will remain in-tact and will not be absorbed into any of the existing ATI product families. The products will be produced by ATI in its plant in Montebello, California, as well as the brand’s existing manufacturer in Moorpark, California.
The company reports that there are no plans to change the distribution set ups in UK or Europe.
In September, ATI, Theta, and Datasat are planning to high-light the advantages of the new set up at CEDIA 2017 in San Diego, if you are going to the show, check it all out on Stand 3335. Datasat products will also be used to deliver demonstrations by PMC at Sound Room 13, RBH at Sound Room 3 and at the Dynaudio suite.
